We are looking for a Platform Engineering Manager to help lead the evolution of an enterprise Kubernetes platform used by engineering teams across a complex, regulated organisation. This role sits at the intersection of Kubernetes platform engineering, developer experience, technical leadership and platform product ownership.
You will help shape the roadmap for a shared Kubernetes platform, support the move toward a more consolidated multi-tenant model, and lead engineering teams in building reliable, secure and scalable platform capabilities. - Help define multi-tenancy strategy, platform boundaries, guardrails and operating model
- Drive developer adoption through self-service, golden paths and clear engineering standards
- Partner with Developer Engineering, Security, Architecture and application teams
- Own roadmap, prioritisation and continuous improvement of platform capabilities
- Manage, coach and develop engineers across the platform function
- Support engineering culture through pair programming, technical discipline and delivery
- Improve reliability, observability, deployment consistency and platform governance
- Balance developer autonomy with enterprise-grade security, compliance & operational control
What We Are Looking For
- Strong experience designing, operating or leading Kubernetes platforms in production
- Understanding of multi-cluster and multi-tenant Kubernetes platform design
- Experience with AWS EKS or equivalent managed Kubernetes platforms
- Internal Developer Platform / Developer Experience / self-service platform experience
- Strong background in CI/CD, GitOps, Terraform, observability and platform automation
- Ability to set technical direction, define guardrails and drive adoption across teams
- Experience managing, mentoring or leading engineers
- Comfortable handling difficult engineering conversations and aligning strong technical personalities
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical decisions clearly
- Experience in regulated or enterprise environments would be highly beneficial
