Hands-on senior engineer responsible for designing, operating, and evolving production Kubernetes platforms on AWS EKS. Owns platform epics end-to-end and provides technical direction across a shared backlog. This is a senior individual contributor role, not a people-management post.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and operate enterprise-scale Kubernetes (EKS) clusters
- Own cluster lifecycle: upgrades, security, networking, multi-cluster strategy
- Deliver GitOps-based deployments (ArgoCD / Flux)
- Build and manage Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform
- Operate and improve platform reliability and production support
- Partner with application, security, and architecture teams
- Provide technical leadership through design reviews, pairing, and mentoring
- Deep, hands-on Kubernetes production experience (EKS strongly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of K8s networking, security, and multi-tenancy
- Proven experience with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong AWS background (Azure/GCP a plus)
- Solid networking fundamentals (VPC, CIDR, routing, firewalls, DNS)
- Confident with Linux CLI, Bash, and Python
- Internal Developer Platform / self-service platform experience
- Multi-cluster or hybrid cloud environments
