The Role
We are seeking a hands‑on Senior Engineer to serve as our Kubernetes (K8s) Product Lead. In this senior individual contributor role, you will be responsible for designing, operating, and evolving production‑grade modern Kubernetes platforms on AWS EKS. You will own platform epics end‑to‑end and provide technical direction across a shared backlog.
Note: This is a technical leadership position, not a people‑management role.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform Engineering: Design, build, and operate enterprise‑scale Kubernetes (EKS) clusters.
- Lifecycle Management: Own the full cluster lifecycle, including upgrades, security, networking, and multi‑cluster strategy.
- Automation & GitOps: Deliver GitOps‑based deployments using ArgoCD or Flux.
- Infrastructure as Code: Build and manage scalable infrastructure using Terraform.
- Reliability: Continuously operate and improve platform reliability and production support.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with application, security, and architecture teams to ensure alignment.
- Technical Leadership: Provide guidance through design reviews, pair programming, and mentoring.
Required Experience
- Kubernetes: Deep, hands‑on production experience (EKS strongly preferred).
- K8s Ecosystem: Strong knowledge of Kubernetes networking, security, and multi‑tenancy.
- Tooling: Proven experience with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
- GitOps: Hands‑on delivery experience with Argo CD or Flux.
- Cloud: Strong AWS background (Azure/GCP experience is a plus).
- Fundamentals: Solid networking fundamentals (VPC, CIDR, routing, firewalls, DNS).
- Scripting: Confident with Linux CLI, Bash, and Python.
Nice to Have
- CNCF Tooling: Experience with Cilium, Kyverno, Karpenter, Helm, or Prometheus.
- Self‑Service: Experience building Internal Developer Platforms (IDP).
- Advanced Environments: Experience with multi‑cluster or hybrid cloud environments.
