This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to take a key position within a dynamic, growing organisation operating across the energy, industrial, marine, infrastructure and emerging energy sectors. We are looking for more than someone who simply reports the numbers. We want a Financial Controller who understands the business behind them β€” someone who can provide insight, challenge where appropriate, strengthen our financial controls and help our leadership team make informed commercial decisions.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, the Financial Controller will take responsibility for the effective financial management, reporting and control of the business. The role will combine financial leadership, management accounting, commercial support, forecasting, cash management, compliance and continuous improvement, with the opportunity to influence how our finance function develops as Integrity continues to grow. You will work closely with operational, commercial and project teams, giving you visibility across the entire organisation and the opportunity to make a genuine impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ownership of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
  • Preparation of budgets, forecasts and longer-term financial plans
  • Cash-flow forecasting and working capital management
  • Oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit control
  • Monitoring project financial performance, margins and profitability
  • Providing meaningful financial and commercial analysis to senior management
  • Supporting project managers with cost control, forecasting and financial performance
  • Development and monitoring of financial KPIs and management information
  • Balance sheet control and reconciliations
  • VAT, PAYE and other statutory financial obligations
  • Supporting corporation tax and year-end processes
  • Liaison with external accountants, auditors, banks, insurers and professional advisers
  • Payroll oversight and associated financial controls
  • Supporting tendering, pricing and commercial decision-making where required
  • Improving financial systems, processes, reporting and internal controls
  • Identifying opportunities to improve profitability, cash generation and financial efficiency
  • Supporting strategic initiatives, investment decisions and business growth
  • Supporting and developing members of the finance and administration team

The successful candidate will also have the freedom to challenge existing processes and introduce new ideas, systems and ways of working where these can improve the business.

ABOUT YOU

You may already be an experienced Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Head of Finance, or you may be an ambitious finance professional ready to take the next significant step in your career. We are interested in speaking with candidates who can demonstrate a strong combination of financial capability, commercial awareness and leadership potential. Ideally, you will bring:

  • Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
  • Excellent understanding of cash flow, working capital and financial controls
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to see beyond the numbers
  • Confidence working with senior management and operational teams
  • The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues
  • A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach
  • High standards of accuracy, integrity and professional judgement
  • Strong Excel and financial systems capability
  • The confidence to challenge constructively and make recommendations
  • The ability to operate effectively within a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
  • Experience with XERO or other finance packages

A recognised accounting qualification such as CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent would be advantageous, although we are equally interested in candidates with substantial relevant experience who can demonstrate the capability required for the position. Experience within energy, oil & gas, engineering, construction, industrial services, marine, renewables, infrastructure or another project-led environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
