Integrity Education Solutions are supporting the appointment of an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist National Online School delivering therapeutic education to children and young people with highly complex needs. This innovative provision supports pupils who are unable to access mainstream education due to neurodiversity, emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA), trauma, and significant mental health challenges. The role offers a unique opportunity to deliver high-quality, remote speech and language therapy within a therapeutic, relationship-led education model.
The Speech and Language Therapist will provide remote assessments and interventions to children and young people with complex communication needs. Working as part of a multidisciplinary clinical and education team, the post-holder will support pupils to engage in learning by addressing speech, language, communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction needs. Therapy is delivered individually and in small groups, using a nurturing, trauma-informed approach. The role also includes supporting staff and families by embedding speech and language strategies into the online learning environment and home context.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist speech and language therapy assessments and interventions remotely
- Identify and support pupils with SLT needs, including those without EHCP-identified provision
- Conduct virtual observations within online learning environments
- Develop bespoke communication strategies and individual communication passports
- Support pupils with expressive/receptive language, social communication, emotional regulation, and engagement
- Write high-quality assessment and progress reports
- Work collaboratively with parents/carers, teachers, therapists, and external professionals
- Provide consultation, training, and advice to education staff
- Contribute to multidisciplinary risk assessments and care planning
- Maintain accurate clinical records in line with GDPR and safeguarding requirements
Key Requirements
- Holds a recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification
- Registered with the HCPC and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
- Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience, including work with highly complex or high-risk pupils
- Strong experience supporting children with SEMH, ASC, trauma, EBSA, or Tier 3/4 mental health needs
- Confident working remotely within a multidisciplinary therapeutic team
- Highly organised, reflective, and resilient
- Committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and strengths-based practice
