Integrity Education Solutions are supporting an independent SEN group with an opportunity for an experienced Headteacher or senior leader to lead the opening of a brand new independent SEND school in the Devon region, supporting neurodiverse pupils aged 10–16 years, on a permanent basis from May 2026. This is a rare chance to establish a school from inception, shaping its culture, provision, and leadership approach within a supportive independent group that understands the complexities and responsibilities of SEND education.

The role

  • Lead the strategic and operational setup of the school
  • Establish a strong, therapeutic, and relational culture
  • Build and develop a high-quality staff team
  • Ensure high standards of safeguarding, compliance, and SEND practice
  • Work closely with the proprietorial group to deliver a sustainable, values-driven provision

The successful candidate

  • Have significant senior leadership experience within SEND, AP, or specialist education
  • Bring credibility, emotional intelligence, and clear leadership judgement
  • Be motivated by impact, quality, and long-term sustainability, rather than scale or prestige alone
  • Be ready to take on the responsibility of opening and leading a new provision
