Integrity Education Solutions are supporting a unique independent Special Educational Needs (SEN) group based in London, which provides therapeutic education for children and young people with special educational and neurodiverse learning needs (SEN). They are seeking a passionate, dynamic, and experienced Deputy Headteacher to join the leadership team within their community-based service based in East London. In this role, you will provide guidance and support to teachers, practitioners, and parents to meet the needs of highly complex and vulnerable young people across London. As Deputy Headteacher, you will develop a robust, appropriate, and engaging curriculum, ensuring it is tailored to the needs of our students. You will support teachers and practitioners in differentiating learning opportunities and adapting lessons for young people whose learning challenges others may take for granted. Your leadership will help the staff team create an environment where vulnerable and complex pupils can thrive, gain qualifications, and become successful, independent adults and leaders. You will provide expertise in holistic, child-focused solutions, ensuring all staff, pupils, and parents/carers have the necessary resources, knowledge, and skills to meet individual SEN needs. You will promote effective pupil progress, a passion for lifelong learning, and career development while positively influencing our community and society. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Deliver an engaging and diverse curriculum through outstanding teaching practice. * Model resilience and professionalism, inspiring your team by demonstrating best practices. * Provide substantial experience within specialist therapeutic education provisions or schools, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of educators, clinicians, and social workers. * Demonstrate experience in positive performance management and team development, including coaching and influencing staff to deliver innovative approaches to teaching. * Show experience in meeting the needs of individuals, providing bespoke interventions, and managing educational administration linked to Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs). * Drive inclusive education initiatives that support best practices for vulnerable and complex groups. * Coach and mentor staff, offering guidance and professional development. * Be proactive and innovative, collaborating with team members from other disciplines while also demonstrating the ability to work independently. KEY EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS * Extensive experience supporting neurodiverse children, including those with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and/or Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH), with an understanding of how these conditions impact communication, learning, and behaviour. * Experience managing challenging behaviour and promoting de-escalation and emotional regulation techniques. * Demonstrated excellence as a teacher, consistently role-modelling best practice. * Resilient, committed, and hard-working, with the ability to persevere in challenging circumstances and never give up.
