Integrity Education Solutions are supporting a unique independent Special Educational Needs (SEN) group that provides therapeutic education for children and young people with special educational and neurodiverse learning needs. The group are seeking a passionate, dynamic, and experienced Headteacher to join its new specialist primary school service in West London, offering a therapeutic learning environment for children aged 7 to 12 years from January 2026.
Pupils at the school often experience significant disruption to their education, with many having been out of school for extended periods due to multiple exclusions or managed moves. This results in substantial gaps in learning. A large majority of pupils also receive early help support, child-in-need support, or child protection services through statutory plans. Pupils remain at the school until the end of Year 6 or Year 7, depending on their individual needs and readiness to transition to the next stage of education.
As the Headteacher you will develop a robust, engaging, and tailored curriculum designed to meet the unique needs of pupils. The role involves supporting teachers and practitioners in differentiating learning opportunities and adapting lessons for children whose challenges may be overlooked in traditional settings. Leadership in this position will foster an environment where vulnerable and complex pupils can thrive, achieve qualifications, and develop the skills to become successful, independent adults and leaders.
Key Responsibilities- Support Neurodiverse Children: Provide expertise in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and/or Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs, understanding how these conditions impact learning, communication, and behaviour.
- Manage Challenging Behaviour: Lead by example in managing challenging behaviour, promoting de-escalation strategies and emotional regulation.
- Role Model Best Teaching Practice: Demonstrate excellence in teaching and model best practice to staff, ensuring high standards across the school.
- Promote Resilience and Commitment: Maintain a positive attitude and perseverance in the face of adversity, fostering a culture in which no child is given up on.
- Experience Supporting Neurodiverse Children: Extensive experience working with children who have Autism (ASC) and/or SEMH needs, with a strong understanding of how these challenges affect learning, communication, and behaviour.
- Behaviour Management: Proven ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively, using de-escalation and emotional regulation techniques.
- Outstanding Teaching Experience: Demonstrated excellence as a teacher, consistently exemplifying best practice and supporting colleagues in their professional development.
- Resilient Leadership: A committed, resilient leader who thrives in challenging environments and is dedicated to improving outcomes for vulnerable children.
Salary offered: Β£75,000 - Β£82,500 (Dependent on experience)
