We are seeking a talented Banking and Finance Lawyer with 3+ years PQE to join our award-winning team.
Role Overview: As a Banking and Finance Lawyer, you will handle high-value financing transactions, advising banks, lenders, and borrowers on complex deals. This role offers the chance to utilise your expertise in real estate and leveraged finance, contribute to cross-departmental projects, and drive business development, all while working in a flexible, hybrid environment with relocation support for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work for banks, financial institutions, lenders, asset-based lenders, and borrowers on a range of financing transactions.
- Draft and negotiate facility agreements, including LMA-based templates, ensuring robust terms for clients.
- Draft and negotiate intercreditor and other ranking agreements to manage creditor priorities.
- Ensure and/or supervise satisfaction of conditions precedent in facility agreements to facilitate drawdown, acting for either lenders or borrowers.
- Assist our award-winning Corporate and Real Estate departments on corporate acquisitions, property acquisitions, and development funding.
- Advise a broad mix of clients, from FTSE 100 companies to international entities based in Europe and the USA.
- Build and support client relationships, taking an active role in business development to grow your and the team’s client base.
Requirements:
- Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with 3+ years PQE in banking and finance law, gained at a reputable law firm.
- Experience in real estate finance and/or leveraged finance, with a strong understanding of deal structures.
- Experience with LMA documentation, including familiarity with facility agreements and/or intercreditor deeds (drafting experience not essential).
- Very good written and verbal communication skills to engage with clients and colleagues effectively.
- Thoroughness in all aspects of work, with great care and attention to detail.
- Ability to work concurrently on multiple projects, manage priorities effectively, and meet tight deadlines under pressure.
- Good organisational and analytical skills, with logical thinking to navigate complex transactions.
- Reliable, responsible, and self-motivated, with a strong sense of initiative.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with colleagues and clients, fostering trust and collaboration.
- Comfortable with a hybrid working model, allowing 2–3 days at home per week.
