Salary: £40,000 – £45,000

The Role:

  • Operate an HGV vehicle (Class 1 or Class 2 as required) safely and professionally.
  • Operate a HIAB (lorry‑mounted crane) to load and offload materials at customer sites.
  • Transport hazardous goods in line with ADR regulations and company procedures.
  • Ensure correct labelling, segregation, and documentation for ADR loads.
  • Conduct daily vehicle and crane safety checks, reporting defects promptly.
  • Ensure all loads are secured safely and comply with legal weight and load restraint regulations.
  • Deliver goods accurately and on time.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork including delivery notes, ADR documentation, tachograph records, and defect reports.
  • Adhere to Working Time Directive regulations and driver hours legislation.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service as a representative of the company.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, including safe lifting, site risk assessments, and hazardous goods handling requirements.
  • Keep vehicles clean, compliant, and presentable at all times.

What you’ll need:

  • Valid HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence.
  • Valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Valid HIAB certification (e.g., ALLMI or equivalent).
  • Valid ADR licence (appropriate categories as required by the business).
  • Experience operating a lorry‑mounted crane.
  • Experience transporting hazardous goods.
  • Good understanding of driver hours, road transport, and ADR legislation.
  • Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience delivering construction materials, fuels, chemicals, or similar regulated products.
  • Experience working in multi‑drop environments.
