The Role:
- Operate an HGV vehicle (Class 1 or Class 2 as required) safely and professionally.
- Operate a HIAB (lorry‑mounted crane) to load and offload materials at customer sites.
- Transport hazardous goods in line with ADR regulations and company procedures.
- Ensure correct labelling, segregation, and documentation for ADR loads.
- Conduct daily vehicle and crane safety checks, reporting defects promptly.
- Ensure all loads are secured safely and comply with legal weight and load restraint regulations.
- Deliver goods accurately and on time.
- Complete all relevant paperwork including delivery notes, ADR documentation, tachograph records, and defect reports.
- Adhere to Working Time Directive regulations and driver hours legislation.
- Maintain high standards of customer service as a representative of the company.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including safe lifting, site risk assessments, and hazardous goods handling requirements.
- Keep vehicles clean, compliant, and presentable at all times.
What you’ll need:
- Valid HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence.
- Valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Valid HIAB certification (e.g., ALLMI or equivalent).
- Valid ADR licence (appropriate categories as required by the business).
- Experience operating a lorry‑mounted crane.
- Experience transporting hazardous goods.
- Good understanding of driver hours, road transport, and ADR legislation.
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Experience delivering construction materials, fuels, chemicals, or similar regulated products.
- Experience working in multi‑drop environments.
