A Quantity Surveyor is required to control the commercial functions within the IUS business. The successful candidate will support the business and take responsibility for the end-to-end commercial process for multiple projects across our workstreams; further enhance the business' commercial strength and margins by improving commercial reporting accuracy, cash flow, reducing risk in change control and WIP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercial reporting including forecasting and wider project performance
  • Work alongside operational team to produce accurate End Life Forecasts
  • Manage client interface
  • Risk management including change control and WIP management
  • Contract Administration
  • Provision of contractual advice to the project delivery team
  • Aid in subcontract procurement and placement, ensuring best value for money and lowest risk achieved at all times
  • Payment and debt management
  • Post project appraisals and feedback loop to Tendering & Estimating team
  • Attend internal and external (Client) meetings
  • Final account compilation / submission
  • Teamwork

  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure

Qualifications & Experience:

  • HNC or above in Quantity Surveying or equivalent is essential
  • Experience in the construction industry is essential
  • Experience with scheme finance and commercial management is essential
  • Ability to understand and respond to contract issues
  • MRICS or MCIOB is desirable
  • Experience in the civil engineering / utility construction industry with a complete understanding of gas, water and electric distribution infrastructures is desirable
  • Contractual knowledge – NEC knowledge is desirable
  • Excellent IT skills – with heavy focus on excel
