We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer or Electrical Design Engineering Manager to lead a small but highly capable design and manufacturing operation within one of our specialist subsidiaries. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who wants to retain a lead in innovative electrical and electromechanical design while also eager to mentor and develop a small engineering and support team. You will play a key part in shaping the technical roadmap of the business, overseeing product development from concept through to manufacture, and ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality, compliant and commercially successful products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a small team of electrical and electromechanical engineers.
- Take full ownership of product design lifecycle, from concept generation to detailed design and documentation.
- Design electrical and electromechanical products to industry standards, ensuring safety, reliability and manufacturability.
- Provide technical leadership across the business, acting as the subject matter expert for electrical systems and compliance requirements.
- Oversee and participate in the production of detailed schematics, layouts, assemblies, and bills of materials.
- Work closely with manufacturing, operations and commercial teams to ensure products meet market needs and performance targets.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation, introducing new materials, technologies and design methodologies where appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards where applicable.
- Support customer projects and provide technical guidance when required.
