We are looking for a Graduate Procurement Buyer to join our team out of our office located in Birmingham, UK.
About the Role
As a Graduate Procurement Buyer, you will support the procurement team in sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating materials, equipment, and services required for various projects. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your procurement expertise in a fast-paced, highly regulated industry while gaining hands-on experience in supply chain management and vendor relations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in receiving and processing requisitions from project teams.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely placement with vendors.
- Track and expedite orders to ensure the timely receipt of goods and services.
- Maintain supplier records and assist with the Approved Supplier Program.
- Help resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure appropriate cost allocations.
- Coordinate the return of non-compliant products and ensure credits or invoice adjustments are processed.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, monitor price changes, and communicate updates with the procurement team.
- Support the evaluation of new subcontractors and vendors.
- Assist in assessing vendor proposals for completeness and quality.
- Contribute to procurement reporting, including diversity spending and cost-saving initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and a willingness to learn procurement software.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A proactive and adaptable mindset with a keen interest in procurement and supply chain processes.
