We are seeking a friendly and organised Quality and Compliance Lead to join our team at a 30-bedded home specializing in acute mental illness. As the first point of contact for residents, visitors, and staff, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment.
What You’ll be Doing
- To undertake a schedule of inspections as directed by the Head of Quality and Compliance.
- To support Managers and staff to understand quality management and implement changes to policy and practices across the services to reflect improvements.
- To undertake compliance audits and inspections across the services and ensure actions are taken to mitigate risks and make necessary improvements.
- To co-ordinate learning and development activities for Managers with regards to regulatory compliance.
Key tasks
- Support Managers and staff to understand quality management and implement changes to policy and practices.
- Supporting and assisting senior managers in the delivery of a high-quality service.
- Using a measured approach to develop quality at local level through use of the risk register and Continuous Action Plans and other quality tools as per company protocol.
- Work alongside Registered Managers to highlight service deficiencies, non-conformities, and risk, providing support to develop action plans to rectify.
- To review data and analyse themes and trends and report on as required.
- Signpost staff to guidance and advice on policies and CQC standards, and support with regulatory compliance.
- To support with the development and review of policy and ensure the most up-to-date policy and associated documents are accessible and used appropriately in practice.
- Promote and share best practice across services, ensuring lessons learned are identified and disseminated effectively.
- Undertake and support quality development as required.
- To support staff to utilise the systems so they are able to understand how they are performing and demonstrate how they are the best at getting better across care and support.
- To support and lead on Quality Projects as agreed by the Board.
Undertaking compliance Inspections
- Completing pre-regulatory Inspections when required which include full inspections every six months in liaison with the Head of Quality and Compliance, COO and Operational Managers.
- Working closely with all relevant parties to coordinate provider inspection activity within the region and ensure copies of the reports are completed and disseminated as per company protocol.
- Undertake pre-audit research and collate data to prepare for audits and identify areas of interest.
- Record, analyse and report findings from audits and quality reviews.
- Produce SMART action plans in line with audit and review findings, supporting group-wide continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that a variety of social and leisure activities are available daily to service users.
- Set up the communal areas with activities and TVs with appropriate programmes on—check this periodically throughout the day.
- Maintain a full and accurate record of therapeutic activities using the appropriate documentation.
- Organise and coordinate service users and rehab assistants to participate and engage in running group activities and other 1:1 sessions.
