We are seeking a friendly and organised Activity Coordinator to join our team! Waterloo Manor Hospital stands as a leading provider of specialised services for women with complex mental health issues, offering an integrated care pathway from low secure environments to open rehabilitation settings. Through robust multi-disciplinary collaboration, a strong focus on personal recovery, and carefully designed facilities, we enable each individual to make meaningful steps towards improved mental health and functional independence.

What You’ll be Doing

  • To develop and run an activity programme to increase service user social interaction, recreation and well-being in a specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation unit.
  • To maximise service users’ opportunities to be active and enhance their quality of life by facilitating group and individual activities, coordinating volunteer workers, organising celebrations, and organising leisure events.
  • The post holder will work as a multidisciplinary team member to design an activity programme that contributes positively to service users' emotional and psychological well-being and furthers therapeutic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that a variety of social and leisure activities are available daily to service users.
  • Set up the communal areas with activities and TVs with appropriate programs on—check this periodically throughout the day.
  • Maintain a full and accurate record of therapeutic activities using the appropriate documentation.
  • Organise and coordinate service users and rehab assistants to participate and engage in running group activities and other 1:1 sessions.

Person specification: Essential and Desirable

  • Desirable
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in a related subject, i.e. Health and social care.
  • Experience in working with individuals with complex needs and supporting them to live full and active lives.
  • Evidence of being able to work effectively in teams.

  • Intermediate IT skills and experience working with MS Office.
