Job Purpose To provide senior clinical leadership and operational management across the hospital/site during night shifts, ensuring safe, effective, and high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership · Act as the senior nurse in charge of the hospital/site overnight · Provide guidance and support to ward staff across multiple units · Respond to clinical incidents, emergencies, and complex situations · Support care for patients with Mental health conditions · Operational Management · Oversee bed management, admissions, and patient flow during the night specific to the PICU · Coordinate staffing levels and redeploy staff where necessary · Ensure wards are safely staffed and operational Decision Making · Act as the key decision-maker in the absence of senior daytime management · Escalate concerns appropriately to on-call managers or medical staff · Manage risk and ensure patient and staff safety Communication · Liaise with on-call doctors, emergency services, and external agencies · Provide clear handovers to day staff and senior management · Support staff with advice and problem-solving Governance
