About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and creative Head of Content to lead the development and delivery of content across a private care home group.

This is a hands-on role responsible for shaping how we communicate across our website, social media, video, print and wider marketing channels. You will work closely with care home teams, residents, families and senior stakeholders to capture authentic stories that showcase our people, our homes and the quality of care we provide.

The role will combine content strategy with practical content creation, including site visits, interviews, photography, video, social media, website content and marketing collateral.

Location: Hybrid, with travel across care home locations

What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop and manage the overall content strategy and content calendar across digital, social, video and print channels.
  • Regularly visit care homes to identify stories, capture content and interview residents, families, Home Managers and colleagues.
  • Create engaging website content, blogs, care home profiles, case studies and family-focused information.
  • Plan and produce social media content across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube.
  • Create and edit short-form video, interviews, home tours and other multimedia content.
  • Support the creation of brochures, newsletters, guides, presentations and other marketing collateral.
  • Use tools such as Canva and other design platforms to create high-quality branded content.
  • Use AI tools to support content research, ideation, drafting, repurposing, transcription and content production.
  • Work with SEO, digital marketing, PR and operational teams to ensure content supports brand awareness, enquiries and occupancy.
  • Maintain a consistent and appropriate tone of voice across all channels.
  • Ensure content is accurate, respectful and compliant with relevant consent, privacy and care-sector requirements.
  • Manage external writers, photographers, videographers, designers or agencies where required.
  • Monitor content performance using website, social media and digital analytics.

What We Are Looking For

  • Significant experience in content, communications, digital marketing, journalism or a related field.
  • Strong writing, editing, interviewing and storytelling skills.
  • Experience developing and managing multi-channel content strategies.
  • Strong understanding of social media and digital content creation.
  • Confident using Canva or similar design tools.
  • Experience creating and editing video content.
  • Good working knowledge of CMS platforms and website content management.
  • Understanding of SEO and digital analytics, including GA4 and Search Console.
  • Practical experience using AI tools within content and marketing workflows.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Comfortable travelling to different locations and working directly with operational teams.
  • Experience within healthcare, social care, care homes, hospitality or another people-focused sector would be advantageous.

The Person

You will be a confident storyteller with a strong eye for content and an ability to turn everyday moments into engaging stories.

You will be comfortable moving between strategy and execution, whether that means planning a content campaign, interviewing a Home Manager, filming a resident activity, creating a social post or improving website content.

Most importantly, you will understand how high-quality content can build trust with families, strengthen the reputation of individual homes and support the wider growth of the organisation.
