We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietician to join the team on a part time basis. Salary for this role is £50k on a full time basis. However, this role is based on 16 hours per week pro rata £.
Waterloo Manor Hospital is the largest female personality disorder service in the United Kingdom, providing specialized assessment and treatment for women with complex mental health needs.
Job Purpose
- To assess, diagnose, and manage patients’ nutritional needs, providing evidence-based dietary advice to support recovery, improve health outcomes, and promote overall wellbeing.
- Clinical Assessment & Care
- · Assess patients’ nutritional status and dietary needs
- · Develop and implement personalised nutrition care plans
- · Monitor and review patient progress, adjusting plans as needed
- · Provide specialist advice for patients with conditions such as diabetes, obesity, and eating disorders
- Patient Support & Education
- · Educate patients, families, and carers on healthy eating and nutrition
- · Support behaviour change and promote long-term healthy habits
- · Deliver one-to-one consultations and group education sessions
- Multidisciplinary Working
- · Work closely with doctors, nurses, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals
- · Contribute to patient care plans and clinical reviews
- · Provide nutritional input during ward rounds and case discussions
- Documentation & Administration
- · Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- · Use electronic health systems to document care and outcomes
- · Prepare reports and contribute to audits or service evaluations
- Health Promotion
- · Support public health initiatives and nutritional awareness programmes
- · Develop resources such as meal plans, leaflets, and guidance materials
Person Specification
- Essential Qualifications & Skills
- · Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition
- · Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
- · Strong communication and counselling skills
- · Ability to interpret clinical data and apply nutritional science
- · Good organisational and time-management skills
- Desirable
- · Experience in a clinical or mental health setting
- · Knowledge of specialist diets (e.g. enteral feeding, weight management)
- · Understanding of psychological aspects of eating behaviours
