The Role
As a Sales Executive at IES, you will play a critical role in driving our mission forward by engaging with key stakeholders in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industries. Reporting to the Head of UK & Ireland, you'll lead sales efforts and customer success for accounts across the UK to promote solutions that enable significant reductions in energy consumption and carbon emissions for the built environment.
To be successful as a Sales Professional at IES, it is essential to possess robust technical expertise, be persuasive, and exhibit strong business acumen. Additionally, you should be skilled in negotiating effective business agreements and demonstrate outstanding communication, leadership, and problemāsolving abilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a pipeline of existing customer and prospects accounts to achieve revenue targets.
- Collaborate with marketing and technical teams to effectively communicate IES's value proposition to new and existing customers - architects, engineers, developers, and other industry professionals.
- Understand client business needs and provide tailored software solutions that deliver measurable ROI and business value.
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to prospective clients.
- Keep current customers apprised of new product features and how they impact their work.
- Lead pricing and contract negotiations, ensuring favourable terms and timely deal closures.
- Manage complex sales cycles using standard methodologies.
- Work closely with EMEA sales region, sales engineering, software product teams, technical support, customer success and revenue operations to enhance internal sales processes and performance.
- Stay informed about current industry trends, regulations, and competitive offerings.
- Provide thought leadership to customers and receive customer feedback to inform software development roadmaps.
- Represent IES at conferences, workshops, and networking events to build brand awareness and expand the sales pipeline.
- Maintain and update Salesforce with detailed notes, forecasting attributes and follow-up activities from customer engagements.

- Proven ability to identify, qualify, and convert leads into actionable sales pipelines.
- Selfāmotivated and resultsādriven, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, willing to "roll up the sleeves" to drive engagements forward.
- Strong sales process management, forecasting, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, negotiate commercial terms, and build strong relationships with sophisticated commercial and technical buyers.
- Strong business acumen, detailāoriented and persuasive.
- Ability to provide market and customer feedback to internal teams for continuous improvement.
- Experience with Salesforce (or equivalent CRM) for detailed opportunity, account and engagement tracking.
- 5+ years of experience in software account management within technical software solutions, preferably within the AEC industry.
- Bachelor's degree required. Preference for Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Architecture.
- 3+ years of building performance software experience and/or HVAC experience strongly preferred.
- Preferred familiarity with IESVE software in the building design process.
