The Role

We are looking for a Management Accountant to support the day to day running of our accounting function, reporting directly to the Controller. This role will play a key part in maintaining high standards across the team, supporting financial controls and contributing to continuous improvement within the department. You will join a team of eight accounting specialists and will be involved in reviewing work, strengthening processes and supporting the business through a period of growth and change following a recent Private Equity investment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the month end close process, including exposure to the international consolidation cycle, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Prepare and review month end journals, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls, identifying gaps and recommending improvements.
  • Support the external audit process, preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries.
  • Review work completed by other team members, providing feedback and acting as a point of escalation for accounting queries.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiency within the finance function.
  • Support the implementation of a new accounting system (NetSuite), including involvement in design and testing.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in a numerical or finance related discipline.
  • Fully qualified UK accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • 2–4+ years’ experience, ideally within a private company environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a growing or PE backed business.
  • Exposure to system implementations, particularly NetSuite.
  • Experience within a global or multi entity environment.
