Package Description: Bank Practice Nurse
The Role
Primary care nursing is where clinical expertise, prevention and continuity of care come together. It's where you build lasting relationships with patients, support healthier lives through education and early intervention, and make a real difference across every stage of life. From immunisations and long-term condition management to health promotion and wound care, you'll use your broad clinical skills to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care within a supportive multidisciplinary team.
At IC24, we're looking for Bank Practice Nurses to join our Primary Care team at Herstmonceux Integrative Health Centre. This flexible bank opportunity allows you to use your experience across a wide range of nursing responsibilities while working alongside an experienced team committed to delivering exceptional care to the local community.
As part of our integrated primary care service, you'll help patients access the right care at the right time, supporting preventative healthcare, improving long-term outcomes and contributing to the ongoing development of our practice.
What you'll focus on?
- Delivering high-quality nursing care: You'll provide safe, evidence-based nursing care across a variety of clinics, supporting patients with acute needs, routine treatments and preventative healthcare throughout their lives.
- Managing long-term conditions: You'll support patients living with chronic conditions including asthma, COPD and diabetes, delivering reviews, monitoring treatment plans and promoting self-management to improve health outcomes.
- Preventative care and health promotion: You'll carry out NHS Health Checks, cervical screening, smoking cessation support and health education, empowering patients to make informed decisions about their wellbeing.
- Immunisations and travel health: You'll administer adult and childhood immunisations, provide travel health advice and vaccinations, and ensure safe vaccine management in line with national guidance and Patient Group Directions.
- Wound care and clinical procedures: You'll deliver high-quality wound assessment and management, undertake phlebotomy, ECGs, blood pressure monitoring, spirometry and other clinical procedures while maintaining excellent infection prevention standards.
- Supporting multidisciplinary care: You'll work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, healthcare assistants and the wider practice team, ensuring patients receive coordinated, person-centred care and appropriate onward referrals when required.
- Contributing to quality improvement: You'll maintain accurate clinical records, support audit activity, contribute to practice protocols and help improve services through evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
