Who we’re looking for: Urgent Primary Care Doctors with a passion for clinical judgement across a wide spectrum of acute presentations.
Hourly pay: £58.69 per hour plus enhancements for unsociable hours.
Working hours: 20 per week, with structured face‑to‑face base working and opportunities to take on additional shifts across CAS and UCCH.
Location: Norfolk – Kings Lynn, Great Yarmouth or Central Norwich. Base face‑to‑face with remote shift options.
Job Introduction: Urgent care is where your clinical judgement matters most. It’s fast, varied and genuinely impactful work – from reassurance to escalation, from uncertainty to clarity, often within minutes. This role is primarily face‑to‑face in urgent care settings such as UTCs and home visiting services, with the opportunity to work remotely through Clinical Assessment Services (CAS) to shape a portfolio that works for you. At IC24 we deliver urgent care as part of a connected system designed to support decision‑making, reduce unnecessary admissions and ensure patients are seen in the right place, first time.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality, face‑to‑face care – assess and manage patients across urgent care settings, including UTCs and home‑visiting services.
- Make confident, timely decisions – prioritise clinical need, manage risk and determine the most appropriate care pathway, whether that’s treatment, referral or escalation.
- Use your full clinical skillset – provide telephone triage and clinical advice through CAS as part of a wider system.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, NHS 111, ambulance services and acute trusts to ensure safe, joined‑up care.
- Develop clinical interests – involve yourself in areas such as frailty, end‑of‑life care, paediatrics and complex acute presentations.
- Progress your career – pursue senior roles, including progression into Clinical Navigator positions for system‑wide clinical oversight and leadership.
