The Role
We are seeking an experienced Temporary Works Site Manager to take full ownership of all temporary works activities on a major bridge and infrastructure project in Birmingham.
You will play a critical role in ensuring the safe planning, design, installation and removal of all temporary works throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with construction and site management teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify temporary works requirements and develop detailed temporary works plans in collaboration with the project team
- Carry out risk assessments and ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, codes of practice and industry standards
- Manage the design, installation and dismantling of temporary works, including scaffolding, formwork, falsework and access systems
- Coordinate internal teams, designers, subcontractors and external stakeholders to ensure temporary works align with the overall construction programme
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to site teams and subcontractors
- Oversee and manage scaffolding and access subcontractors, permits and approvals
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits, resolving issues promptly
- Maintain accurate documentation including design calculations, method statements and risk assessments
- Stay up to date with industry best practice and implement continuous improvements
About You
You will have proven experience working on large-scale UK infrastructure projects, ideally bridges or viaducts, and be confident managing all aspects of temporary works on a live construction site.
