The Role
Integrate Engineering Resources are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to work on an industrial site based on the Isle of Grain, Kent.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of industrial plant and equipment.
This is a hands-on position requiring a strong electrical background combined with a good mechanical understanding of heavy industrial machinery and plant.
We are particularly interested in engineers who have worked within power generation, heavy industry, manufacturing, process plants, energy, utilities or similar industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across site.
- Fault-find, diagnose and repair electrical and electromechanical equipment.
- Maintain and repair electric motors, drives, control systems and associated electrical equipment.
- Carry out maintenance and fault finding on industrial cranes and lifting equipment.
- Work on plant including boiler systems, compressors, pumps, motors, gearboxes and associated machinery.
- Diagnose electrical faults and complete repairs to minimise plant downtime.
- Carry out inspection, testing and replacement of electrical components where required.
- Assist with mechanical maintenance activities when necessary.
- Identify potential equipment failures and recommend preventative maintenance or remedial works.
- Support plant shutdowns, breakdowns and maintenance activities.
- Complete maintenance records and report defects or recurring equipment issues.
- Work closely with site engineering, operations and maintenance teams.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site procedures, permits and health & safety requirements.
- Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Technician, Electrical Engineer or Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer within an industrial environment.
- A strong electrical bias with hands-on fault-finding and maintenance experience.
- Good working knowledge of electric motors and drives.
- Experience maintaining or repairing industrial cranes and lifting equipment.
- Experience working with boilers, compressors, pumps and other industrial plant.
- Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs independently.
- Good mechanical understanding alongside electrical expertise.
- Experience working within a heavy industrial, power generation, process, manufacturing or similar environment.
- Relevant electrical/engineering qualifications.
- Strong understanding of safe systems of work and industrial health & safety procedures
