Job Title: QA/QC Manager Industrial Power Generation Location: Ellesmere Port, Cheshire Contract: 21st July 2025 – 6 month initial contract Rate: £450.00 – £475.00 per day Reports To: Project Director / Head of Construction About the Company We are supporting a leading contractor specialising in delivering complex industrial and energy infrastructure projects across the UK. With a growing pipeline of high-value developments, we are seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager to lead quality assurance and control on a major new-build industrial power generation project. Role Overview The QA/QC Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the quality assurance and quality control strategy for the full project lifecycle from mechanical and electrical inslallation to commissioning. You will ensure all works comply with client specifications, relevant standards (ISO 9001, BS EN standards, etc.), and statutory regulations. Key Responsibilities * Develop and implement the Project Quality Plan (PQP) in line with company and client requirements. * Oversee all QA/QC activities during civil, mechanical, and electrical phases of construction. * Lead quality inspections and audits across all packages (groundworks, structural steel, M&E installations, etc.). * Maintain quality documentation and records, including ITPs, NCRs, method statements, and test reports. * Coordinate and manage third-party inspections, including client representatives and statutory bodies. * Train site staff and subcontractors on quality standards and procedures. * Review and approve subcontractor quality documentation and ensure compliance throughout the supply chain. * Investigate non-conformances, implement corrective/preventive actions, and track resolutions. * Support commissioning and handover with full as-built documentation and quality records. * Report regularly to senior project stakeholders on quality performance, KPIs, and issues. Requirements * Minimum 5+ years\’ QA/QC management experience in industrial, energy, or heavy infrastructure projects. * Proven experience working for a principal contractor. * In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, construction codes and standards (e.g., BS EN, IEC, ASME, etc.). * Experience in power generation projects (CHP, gas, biomass, energy-from-waste, or similar) is highly desirable. * Relevant qualifications in engineering or construction (HNC/HND/Degree). * CSCS Card (Manager level), SMSTS preferred. * Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. * Proficient in MS Office and document management systems
