An established engineering business providing systems, services, and solutions to the food processing industry is seeking an experienced Mechanical Field Service Engineer to join its growing team. The company supports major food manufacturing clients across the UK and internationally, delivering specialist engineering services, installations, maintenance, and technical support within the potato processing, crisp, and snack sectors.
The Opportunity
Due to continued growth and success, we are looking for a skilled Mechanical Field Service Engineer with experience in food processing or related process industries. Working alongside an experienced team of field service engineers, you will play a key role in supporting customer sites both in the UK and overseas. International travel may be required, sometimes at short notice.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation and commissioning of third-party equipment
- Mechanical overhaul and supervision of process equipment
- Planned annual maintenance activities
- Mechanical upgrades and commissioning support
- Assisting the wider projects department
- Supporting gas service engineers during routine servicing activities
- Delivering high levels of customer service and technical support on-site
Candidate Requirements
- Mechanical engineering qualifications with strong practical engineering knowledge
- Experience working with process systems and industrial equipment
- Basic electrical knowledge (low/medium voltage advantageous)
- Welding and fabrication skills beneficial
- Minimum 3 years' industry experience
- Previous experience within the food processing or related process industries preferred
- Strong engineering and fault-finding background
- Flexible and adaptable approach with willingness to travel extensively
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
