The role will involve projects from the concept and detail of the design, through to implementation, testing and handover, and also work on maintenance programmes.
Duties will include:
- Ensuring that electrical, instrument and control schemes operate within the framework of national and company standards.
- Overall responsibility for the safe execution of project and site/construction implementation.
- Managing the construction implementation in full compliance with Safety, Cost and Schedule, QA & QC etc.
- Managing the Pre-Construction Planning, Procurement and Execution strategy.
- Managing the manpower and resources planning and mobilisation allocation.
- Driving a Construction & Commissioning project strategy.
- Managing the Procurement, Tender Evaluation and Selection of sub-contractors and follow through the implementation, forecasting and contract closeout.
- Managing the QA Procedure and QC Compliance in implementation.
- Managing and tracking of procurement, especially long lead items as well as bulk materials procurement and timely delivery.
- Ensuring the full implementation of Safety Procedures and Requirement.
- Ensuring construction organisation is adequate, that staff at all levels understand their role and responsibilities and that effective delegation takes place.
- Assisting with and co-ordinating the project design and constructability.
- Preparing technical and financial proposals with the Proposal Manager.
- Working with field staff to resolve technical and constructability issues.
- Preparing and administration for multiple subcontracts.
Requirements:
- Post secondary qualification in instrument/electrical discipline.
- Strong knowledge of project controls, estimating, scheduling, tendering, planning.
- Microsoft Excel and Word knowledge.
