The Role:
Due to recent major project wins, our client is currently recruiting for a Project Engineer for their site based in St Helens. The roles will be office based for the start of the role and then will be moved onto site on various locations across the UK.
Duties will include:
- Working with the Design and Production teams to manage the project through to delivery.
- This position will have a wide range of roles and responsibilities and is uniquely challenging.
- Engaging in all aspects of the business including commercial and business elements, as well as the core role of Engineering.
- Supporting early design concepts with Design to Manufacture.
- Working with the manufacture team to develop processes and overseeing the project from handover to delivery.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with design & manufacturing teams.
- Ensure designs can be manufactured continuously.
- Work with Planning and Production to ensure timely production with optimal processes.
- Manage project procurement and engage with suppliers.
- Regular reporting and follow up internally and with clients.
- Reporting non-conformances and liaising with suppliers.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients to ensure that contracts are delivered in accordance with project agreements and best practice.
- Attend site meetings, effectively communicate and provide information for progress reports.
- Recording and reporting key metrics to team members and management.
- Control of all customer specifications, drawings and modifications.
- Project management.
- Assist and maintain the quality management system to ISO9001:2015 standard.
- Competent in reading technical drawings.
- Future opportunities to be part of the project management of high profile contracts in the Power Construction Industry.
- Training to develop into a Lead Project Manager on high value contracts.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience as a Mechanical Site Project Manager.
- Prior background in heavy industrial sector.
- CSCS card.
- SMSTS certificate.
- HND or equivalent in mechanical engineering / construction.
- Excellent people management skills and a proven ability to manage teams.
- Ability to make quick decisions and find solutions if any issues or problems arise.
- Ability to deal with complex tasks and deliver them to a set budget and timescale.
- Ability to build relationships with clients.
- Clear communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail - accurate and methodical in work.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
