Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled and qualified Coded TIG 141 Welder to join our team on an industrial site. The role involves precision welding of stainless and carbon steel pipework ranging from 1 to 12 inches in diameter. The ideal candidate will have up-to-date TIG 141 coding, a strong understanding of weld procedures, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship in line with industry standards and site specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out TIG welding (process 141) on stainless and carbon steel pipework (1" to 12").
- Work from isometric drawings, weld maps, and welding procedures.
- Perform root runs, hot passes, and capping with a high standard of finish.
- Ensure all welds are completed to specified tolerances and in accordance with site quality standards.
- Carry out pre-weld preparation including fit-up, alignment, and tack welding where required.
- Conduct visual inspections and prepare work for NDT (X-ray, MPI, DPI) where applicable.
- Maintain and operate TIG welding equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow site safety rules and adhere to risk assessments and method statements.
- Work alongside pipefitters, supervisors, and quality control personnel to meet project milestones.
Requirements
- Valid/previous Coded TIG 141 certification (EN ISO 9606-1) for stainless and carbon steel.
- Proven experience welding pipework from 1 to 12 inches in industrial settings.
- Strong ability to read and interpret isometric drawings and weld procedures.
- Knowledge of welding standards, tolerances, and quality control requirements.
- CSCS or equivalent (Required).
- NVQ Level 3 in Welding or equivalent (Preferred).
- Understanding of health, safety, and environmental site regulations.
- Previous experience working on power plants, refineries, pharmaceutical, or food-grade sites.
