Integrate Engineering Resources are recruiting for a QA Manager for a permanent position on behalf of our client, to support a major power station construction project in Somerset. The role will involve managing all aspects of quality, including supervising quality personnel, overseeing the preparation and implementation of the project quality plan, ITPs processes and procedures, acting as primary liaison to client on all quality related issues, being responsible for ensuring sufficient training is conducted for project personnel on the company quality management system and project specific procedures. Additionally, there will be requirements to lead the company nuclear safety culture within the project, promote the company core values and engage in the efficient development of project documentation and ensure timely completions.
Main Duties
- Ensuring there are documented Management Systems and Control Procedures for all relevant activities within the department(s).
- Prepare and implement quality Plan and Inspection and Test Plans for the items of equipment being installed.
- Day to day planning and operation of Quality Site system as defined in the company quality manual.
- Ensuring compliance audits of product and processes are maintained.
- Ensure adequate QA resources are available to support the Project requirements.
- Ensure that all Site QA department personnel are experienced or trained to perform their jobs effectively and manage the QA departmental budget and other administrative functions to provide an efficient operation that is cost effective and integrated.
- Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff, visitors, clients and general public. Support a safe compliant working culture.
- Ensure that updates to specifications and changes to scope are incorporated within the Quality systems, ITPs, procedures and final documentation.
- Develop and administer audit schedule.
- Lead and promote Nuclear Safety Culture and company values within the Project Team and supply chain members.
- Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance. Report progress of the objectives to the Project Management team.
- Review product and process non-conformance and conduct Root Cause Analysis to recommend remedial actions including but not limited to modifications of processes, products or QA standards where warranted.
- Identifying & reporting of improvements at site.
- Collation of quality costs.
- Ensure welding is compliant with the requirements of ISO 3834-2.
- Final review of completed quality plans / ITPs at contract close out.
- The compilation Review & Final handover of data dossiers / LTQR.
- The final release of finished products / equipment.
- Assist the company with accreditation to ISO 19443:2018.
- Manage client / owner feedback and perform root cause analysis to resolve any issues and identify business improvement opportunities.
- Engage in Project close-out and lessons learned sessions and provide a final project report on the QA performance.
- Monitor progress and performance of staff and take appropriate action where necessary.
- Adhering to and promoting the highest levels of health and safety.
- Anticipate and preventing potential problems, and responding appropriately to deal with any problems that do occur.
Requirements
- HNC / HND, CSWIP 3.2 or Equivalent Personnel Certification in Non-Destructive Testing.
- IOSH Leading Safety preferred or alternative.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.K and subject to acceptance/ approval of the BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) Application and DBS Security Clearance (Disclosure & Barring Service Check).
- Lead Auditor Accredited.
- 5 years previous relative experience within the Oil, Gas, Power or Nuclear Industry.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, problem solving and organisation skills.
