Our client is currently recruiting for a full time P6 Planner for a major power station construction project near Bridgewater. The role will involve creating, maintaining and reviewing a programme of work in line with the project schedule and strategy.
Responsibilities
- Developing and delivering project plans in Primavera P6, including detailed fabrication and construction activities.
- Developing Work Breakdown Structures, producing manhour take-offs, establishing durations and ensuring series and parallel working have been considered.
- Ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Liaising with surveyors and engineers.
- Labour resource management and forecasting.
- Producing progress reports and forecasts for team members, clients and stakeholders.
- Breaking large jobs down into phases of development.
- Using project management tools to plan timeframes.
- Working with estimators to calculate the resources needed for a project.
- Meeting with contractors and suppliers.
- Writing bids for tender.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a mechanical engineering / construction related discipline.
- Proficiency in P6 Primavera scheduling products and report preparation skills.
- Minimum of five years experience as a Planner within the Oil, Gas, Nuclear Industry with Project or Turnaround experience.
- Experience of planning and managing schedules on major construction projects.
- Must have strong understanding of CPM (Critical Path Method) concepts and calculations.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.K and subject to acceptance/ approval of the BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) Application.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular; Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Good understanding of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment, and labour requirements.
