As we embark on ambitious new projects, we are seeking a talented Welding Engineer/Supervisor to oversee all welding activities on-site for large-scale viaducts and bridge structures.
Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Welding Engineer/Supervisor to lead and manage all welding activities on the construction site for our large-scale viaducts and bridge projects. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that welding processes are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all welding processes are in compliance with the requirements;
- Supervising and monitoring the Welding dossiers implementation on site;
- Ensuring the welders compliance with the WPS in all critical aspects;
- Being responsible for the Welding plan on site;
- Providing training to the welders;
- Assuring that all requirements/conditions for the execution of welding procedures are fulfilled;
- Address non-conformities on site together with the Welding Coordination team at the headquarters.
Welding Management:
- Supervise and coordinate all welding activities on-site, including welding procedure qualifications, welder certifications, and inspections.
- Ensure that welding work meets industry codes, specifications, and quality standards.
- Implement and maintain welding procedures and best practices.
Safety and Compliance:
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety in welding operations, adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.
- Conduct safety training for welders and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
- Address and resolve safety concerns promptly.
Quality Assurance:
- Perform weld inspections and quality checks to verify the integrity and quality of welded joints.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to maintain high welding quality standards.
- Identify and address any welding defects or issues.
Resource Management:
- Manage welding personnel and subcontractors, ensuring proper allocation of resources.
- Procure welding materials and equipment, maintaining inventory and budget control.
- Monitor productivity and efficiency of welding operations.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including inspection reports, certifications, and project documentation.
- Provide regular progress reports to project management and stakeholders.
Problem Solving:
- Identify welding-related challenges and develop effective solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve welding-related design issues.
Requirements:
- EWE/IWE, EWT/IWT or EWS/IWS certificate, according to ISO 14731;
- Academically competent CSCS card;
- Previous experience in supervising welding procedures in S355 carbon steel;
- Aptitude for work at height;
- Good communication skills and ability to work in teams.
