Duration: 3 months on site then transfer to another site up to 2 years work
Rate: £24.00 per hour Monday to Friday - £30.00 per hour weekends - £55.00 per day lodge
Hours: 10 hours per day Monday to Friday and 8 hours Saturday
Job Summary
We are seeking skilled and experienced Pipefitter Welders to join our team, specializing in stainless steel dairy pipework. The ideal candidates will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing high-quality stainless steel piping systems in line with industry standards and project requirements. You will work within a fast-paced environment, often on-site, ensuring precision and adherence to hygiene standards critical in the dairy and food industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Pipefitting and Welding: Measure, cut, bend, and weld stainless steel pipes to specified dimensions using TIG welding techniques. Fabricate and assemble stainless steel dairy pipe systems, including fittings, valves, and other components. Install and secure pipe systems on-site, ensuring alignment and compliance with design drawings and specifications. Perform precision work to meet food-grade sanitary standards, avoiding contamination risks.
- Blueprint and Technical Reading: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and isometric diagrams for pipe layout and installation. Identify and resolve discrepancies between design and actual site conditions.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect welds for defects and ensure all work meets food-grade and safety standards. Conduct hydrostatic and pressure testing to verify system integrity.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to all site safety regulations and company policies. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, especially in food production areas.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience as a Pipefitter Welder, specifically working with stainless steel and food-grade pipework.
- Proficiency in TIG welding, with a demonstrated ability to produce clean, high-quality welds.
- Familiarity with hygienic design principles for dairy and food industries.
- Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and schematics.
- Knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations, including hygiene standards in food production environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Experience and Certifications
- Certifications in TIG welding (6G if possible) or equivalent (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ).
- Experience working in the dairy, beverage, or food processing industry.
