Job Title: Works/Production Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Works/Production Manager to oversee the manufacturing and production operations at our facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, managing staff, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the daily production and manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and quality targets are met.
  2. Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and company objectives.
  3. Manage and supervise production staff, providing leadership, training, and performance management.
  4. Monitor and optimise production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs.
  5. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  6. Maintain and enforce quality control measures, identifying and addressing issues promptly.
  7. Work closely with procurement, logistics, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations.
  8. Implement and drive lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  9. Analyse production data and prepare reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  10. Lead problem-solving activities and provide solutions to production challenges.
  11. Ensure proper maintenance and availability of machinery and equipment.
  12. Foster a positive and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork and innovation.

Key Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as a Works Manager, Production Manager, or similar role in a manufacturing environment 5+ years.
  2. Strong knowledge of production management principles, lean manufacturing, and process improvement.
  3. Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  4. Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
  5. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and quality assurance processes.
  6. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Proficiency in production planning and reporting tools.
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  9. Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).
  10. AutoCAD Beneficial.
