The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.

Location: Walsall

Hours: Basic 8:00am-16:30pm Mon to Thurs, 8:00am-13:30pm Fridays (+ Overtime during week and weekends)

Start Date: Immediate

Duration: 3 months

PAYE Pay Rates:

  • 1st 40 Hours Mon-Fri: £18.50/hr + £2.23/hr Holiday Pay = £20.73/hr
  • Over 40 Hours Mon-Fri: £24.66/hr
  • Sat All Hours: £27.75/hr
  • Sunday All Hours: £37.00/hr

The Role:

Integrate Engineering Resources is currently recruiting Plater Fabricators on behalf of our client for long term work in their busy fabrication workshops near Walsall. Duties will include:

  • Read, interpret and understand complex drawings, deconstruct a drawing of a fabrication to its component parts to create a cutting list.
  • Develop patterns to make complex shapes including cones, square to round transformers, pipe branches & kinked hoppers taking into account plate thicknesses.
  • Operate specialist fabrication machinery such as guillotines, press brakes, pyramid rolls, universal iron workers, section rollers, profile burners, plasma cutters, oxyacetylene cutting equipment, pillar & radial arm drills, band saws, circular saws, cutters & reciprocating saws, plus smaller hand power tools including magnet drills, line burners and angle grinders & plate bevellers.
  • Be able to at least tack weld with MIG, Stick & TIG welding equipment.
  • Have the ability to lay out a job, level using at least a dumpy level, measure accurately, fit.
  • Be able to correct distortion in angles, beams, channels, tubes, tees & plates using oxyacetylene equipment.
  • Be able to use an overhead crane and have the ability to sling loads in a safe manner.
  • Work with a range of materials from carbon steel to stainless steels, alloys and thickness from thin gauge sheet metal up to slab plate of 150mm plus in all sections including plate, beam, column, angle, channel, tee, box section, tubes, flats, bars including pre made flooring and mesh.
  • Follow specifications, procedures, instructions and be compliant with health and safety is paramount.

  • Experience as a Plater / Fabricator in a workshop environment
  • NVQ 3 / City & Guilds certs an advantage
