Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced HSE Lead to oversee and manage all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) aspects at our oil and gas plant in Scotland. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with UK safety regulations, fostering a strong safety culture, and implementing best practices to mitigate risks and promote a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and systems in accordance with UK HSE regulations and company standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Complete and manage Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to ensure all activities are carried out safely and effectively.
- Lead incident investigations, identifying root causes and recommending preventive measures.
- Provide HSE training and coaching to staff and contractors to enhance awareness and promote best practices.
- Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Develop emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure HSE considerations are integrated into project planning and operations.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, local authorities, and stakeholders regarding HSE matters.
- Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping for all HSE activities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent HSE qualification.
- Proven experience as an HSE Lead or similar role in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation, including COMAH regulations.
- Experience in incident investigation, risk assessment, and safety auditing.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards is desirable.
