We are currently seeking an experienced Rigger to work on a new build power generation project in Leeds. The role involves carrying out lifting, moving, and positioning of heavy equipment and structural components in accordance with site lifting plans, method statements, and strict health & safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out rigging and lifting operations safely and efficiently during night shift operations
- Assist with the erection, positioning, and dismantling of heavy plant, machinery, and structural components
- Interpret and follow lifting plans, method statements, and risk assessments
- Select, inspect, and use appropriate lifting gear and accessories
- Work closely with crane operators, supervisors, and other trades to ensure coordinated lifting activities
- Conduct pre-use checks on lifting equipment and report any defects
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the work area
- Comply with all site health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Valid CSCS Card
- NVQ Level 2/3 Rigger qualification
- Proven experience working as a rigger on large-scale construction or industrial projects
- Experience on power generation, energy, or heavy industrial sites preferred
- Strong understanding of lifting operations and safety procedures
- Ability to work nights and adapt to site schedules
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
