The Role
Weare currently recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Manager / Health & Safety Adviser to join a growing construction business.
This is a practical and highly site-focused position, providing Health & Safety support across the company's office operations and active construction sites.
The successful candidate will work closely with operational and site teams to ensure high standards of health and safety are maintained across the business.
The client is open to appointing either an experienced Health & Safety Manager or a strong Health & Safety Adviser who is ready to take on a broader level of responsibility.
The current postholder is leaving on 27 August 2026, so an early start is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day Health & Safety advice and support across the business.
- Oversee Health & Safety standards across active construction sites and office operations.
- Work closely with Site Managers, Supervisors and operational teams to promote a strong safety culture.
- Provide practical guidance on Health & Safety matters and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
- Carry out regular site visits, inspections and audits.
- Identify potential risks and support teams in implementing suitable control measures.
- Help maintain and continuously improve company-wide Health & Safety standards.
- Act as a key point of contact for Health & Safety matters across the organisation.
- Support operational teams with maintaining compliance and best practice.
- Ensure Health & Safety remains a visible and integral part of day-to-day site operations.
About You
The ideal candidate will have
- Previous Health & Safety experience within the construction industry.
- Strong experience working within groundworks and/or earthworks environments.
- A practical, hands-on approach to Health & Safety.
- Experience working directly with site and operational teams.
- The ability to confidently operate in a predominantly site-based environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of Health & Safety across the business.
- Experience at either Health & Safety Adviser or Health & Safety Manager level.
Relevant Health & Safety qualifications and professional memberships will be considered as part of the selection process.
Package& Working Pattern
- £40,000 – £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- Company car.
- Additional company benefits.
- Predominantly site-based role.
- Approximately 1 day per week in the office.
