We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Supervisor to oversee mechanical installation activities on a major new-build power generation project. The successful candidate will provide leadership, technical oversight, and quality assurance across all mechanical construction scopes, ensuring safe, timely, and compliant delivery of works.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day mechanical construction activities across boilers, piping systems, pressure parts, machinery and balance-of-plant equipment.
- Ensure contractors and subcontractors deliver works to project specifications, engineering drawings, and relevant codes/standards.
- Monitor installation, alignment, welding, pressure testing, and commissioning activities to ensure adherence to QA/QC requirements.
- Enforce site safety policies and promote a strong safety culture within all mechanical work fronts.
- Coordinate with engineering, planning, HSE, and construction management teams to resolve technical issues and maintain progress.
- Review method statements, risk assessments, and lifting/installation procedures for mechanical packages.
- Track progress, identify risks or delays, and support mitigation planning.
- Ensure all documentation, reporting, and inspection records are completed accurately and on time.
- Support commissioning teams during mechanical completion, punch-list closeout, and handover phases.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Construction Supervisor on large-scale industrial or power generation projects.
- Strong background working with boilers, piping systems, pressure parts, mechanical equipment, rotating machinery and balance-of-plant systems.
- SSSTS/SMSTS.
- Demonstrable understanding of mechanical installation workflows, welding standards, pressure systems regulations, and QA/QC processes.
- Experience supervising contractors in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations for major construction sites.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and specifications.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
- Relevant mechanical engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) preferred.
