With a strong dedication to presenting innovative, performance-based battery material solutions, IPL works closely with ndustrial partners and academics to enable the mass uptake of battery-powered solutions globally and reduce CO2 emissions.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Cathode Technology Scientist at Integrals Power. As a Cathode Technology Scientist, you will be responsible for conducting day-to-day tasks related to battery cathode material development. This includes analysing data, troubleshooting issues, providing technical support, and contributing to research and development (R&D) projects.

You will also be responsible to:

  • Synthesise LFP/LFMP cathode materials with different approach (including Hydrothermal, co-percipitation, solid state and etc…).
  • Provide engineering expertise to identify, develop and implement production technologies for the scale-up and production of cathode active materials including LFP, LFMP.
  • Run and manage the existing nano-material pilot line as well as pCAM line.
  • Develop a technology roadmap to support our business strategy and partner/customer needs. Define and lead technology projects.
  • Develop a network of equipment vendors and material suppliers that we can leverage for development and to support future capital investment.

Qualifications

  • Analytical Skills, Troubleshooting, and Technical Support
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in research and development (R&D) projects
  • Knowledge of battery technologies and materials
  • Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in a material science or engineering discipline.
  • Industrial experience in synthesis and development of cathode materials including LFP, LFMP and pCAM.
  • Industrial experience in relevant areas such as process scale-up, process engineering and technology management.
  • Technical expertise in materials synthesis and processes including calcination, washing, drying, filtering and milling.
  • Ability and flexibility to manage and prioritise activities in a fast-changing environment.
