JLL is seeking a qualified Electrician with Authorised Person (AP) status to join our facilities management team. This role requires an experienced electrical professional who can take responsibility for complex low voltage electrical systems, switching operations, and ensuring electrical safety compliance across our commercial property portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as Authorised Person (Electrical) for designated facilities, taking responsibility for electrical isolation, switching, and permit-to-work procedures.
- Carry out switching operations on Complex Low voltage electrical systems in accordance with safety procedures and regulations.
- Issue electrical permits and supervise electrical work carried out by competent persons.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including LV switchgear, distribution boards, and associated protection systems.
- Conduct electrical testing and inspection programs including PAT testing, fixed wire testing, and emergency lighting tests.
- Maintain electrical plant rooms, substations, and distribution networks across commercial properties.
- Respond to electrical emergencies and power outages, implementing safe restoration procedures.
- Liaise with DNO (Distribution Network Operators) and utility companies regarding supply issues and planned maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with BS ****, Electricity at Work Regulations ****, and relevant CDM regulations.
- Maintain detailed electrical records, test certificates, and statutory compliance documentation.
- Mentor junior electrical staff and supervise contractors working on electrical systems.
- Support energy monitoring initiatives and power quality assessments.
- Participate in planned preventive maintenance programs and emergency response procedures.
Essential Qualifications:
- City Guilds **** Inspection Testing qualification or equivalent.
- Authorised Person (Electrical) certification with proven experience in switching operations.
- LV Switching qualification (up to 100V) and relevant safety training.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial/industrial electrical maintenance.
- Current 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations certification.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
Technical Requirements:
- Experience with Complex LV electrical systems and switchgear.
- Proficiency in electrical testing equipment including insulation testers, earth loop impedance testers, and thermal imaging cameras.
- Knowledge of building management systems and electrical monitoring equipment.
- Understanding of power quality analysis and harmonic measurement.
- Familiarity with electrical CAD systems and asset management databases.
- Experience with emergency generator systems and UPS equipment.
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and life safety systems.
