Due to continued growth within our Fire Door division, we are seeking an experienced and commercially aware Fire Door Contracts Manager to oversee the successful delivery of fire door inspection, remedial, installation, and compliance programmes across a diverse portfolio of projects.

This is a key operational role responsible for managing contracts from initial pricing and tender stage through to delivery, purchasing, financial control, compliance assurance, and project completion. The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams, technical management, purchasing, clients, and stakeholders to ensure works are delivered safely, compliantly, on time, on budget and to the highest standards.

Role Purpose

The Fire Door Contracts Manager will take full responsibility for the commercial, operational, and compliance management of fire door projects and programmes of work. The role requires strong leadership, technical understanding, financial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams within live environments. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring operational performance, contractual compliance, quality assurance, and client satisfaction across all projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial & Contract Management
    • Manage fire door contracts from tender stage through to project completion.
    • Review project specifications, drawings, and client requirements to support pricing and tender submissions.
    • Prepare estimates, quotations, and cost plans for remedial and installation works.
    • Monitor project costs, budgets, and financial performance to ensure commercial targets are achieved.
    • Work closely with finance and operational teams to maintain effective cost control and reporting.
  • Operational Delivery
    • Coordinate and manage multiple projects and programmes of work simultaneously.
    • Support operational planning and scheduling to ensure resources are effectively allocated.
    • Work collaboratively with Contracts Managers, Operations Managers, Technical Managers, and Approved Persons to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and compliantly.
    • Monitor project progress and operational performance against agreed KPIs and client expectations.
    • Provide operational support and leadership across the fire door division where required.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance
    • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with relevant fire safety legislation, third-party certification requirements, British Standards, and company procedures.
    • Support quality assurance processes, inspections, and compliance audits across live projects.
    • Drive continuous improvement across operational and compliance activities.
    • Ensure accurate documentation, certification, reporting, and project records are maintained.
    • Promote safe systems of work and ensure health & safety compliance across all operational activities.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
    • Attend client meetings, progress reviews, and operational planning meetings where required.
    • Provide clear communication and professional support throughout the lifecycle of projects.
    • Support the delivery of high levels of customer satisfaction and service excellence.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Experience within a similar contracts, compliance, or operational management role.
  • Experience with BM Trada installation and maintenance scheme.
  • Strong understanding of fire door remedial and installation works.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and programmes within live environments.
  • Commercial awareness with experience in pricing, estimating, and budget management.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, quality assurance, and operational procedures.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office and project reporting systems.

Desirable

  • Background within Facilities Management, Construction, Passive Fire Protection, or Compliance sectors.
  • Trade qualification within Carpentry, Mechanical, Electrical, or associated FM disciplines.
  • Knowledge of third-party certification schemes and fire door compliance standards.
  • Experience working within healthcare, education, residential, or occupied buildings.
