Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary Mobile Engineer with expertise in a variety of trades, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, general building maintenance, and fabric work (such as painting, and basic carpentry). This position requires a flexible, proactive individual who will be part of a team responsible for the maintenance and repair of facilities across multiple sites. The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving abilities, good communication skills, and a keen eye for detail. A company van will be provided to support travel between locations. Key Responsibilities: General Maintenance:Perform reactive and planned maintenance work on a range of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling systems. Fabric Work & Painting:Handle a variety of fabric works such as painting, plastering, decorating, patch repairs, and general carpentry tasks (e.g., door adjustments, replacing locks, etc.). Inspection & Repair:Carry out routine inspections, identifying potential issues, and performing the necessary repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation of all building systems. HVAC & Electrical:Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical issues (e.g., lighting and HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Plumbing:Repair plumbing systems (e.g., fixing leaks, unclogging drains, repairing pipes). Preventative Maintenance:Complete regular checks on equipment and facilities, ensuring proactive maintenance is undertaken. Health & Safety Compliance:Adhere to safety regulations, carrying out risk assessments, and ensuring work is completed to the highest standards. Customer Service:Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, responding to issues quickly and efficiently while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Reporting:Maintain accurate records of work completed, including logging jobs on a mobile device, completing paperwork, and reporting to supervisors as required. Qualifications and Experience: Proven experience as a multi-skilled engineer, preferably within a mobile or field-based role. Strong background in general building maintenance, fabric work, and painting. Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. Basic carpentry skills, including door and lock repairs. Experience with plastering, decorating, and surface preparation (essential). Relevant qualifications in one or more trades (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds) would be advantageous. Strong understanding of Health & Safety standards and regulations. Full, clean UK driving license (essential). Skills: Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Good communication skills, with the ability to liaise with clients and colleagues professionally. Flexibility to travel to different locations and work on a variety of tasks.
