JLL Workplace Management β Reading
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable General Maintenance Operative to join our workplace management team in Reading. This role involves maintaining and servicing commercial properties to ensure optimal functionality, safety, and presentation standards for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building repairs
- Conduct preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency callouts
- Carry out minor decorating work including painting and touch-ups
Building Systems
- Monitor and maintain HVAC systems, lighting, and mechanical equipment
- Perform basic electrical work (within competency levels)
- Maintain fire safety equipment and emergency systems
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Client Service
- Interact professionally with clients and building occupants
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain JLL\βs reputation
- Complete work orders accurately and timely
- Communicate effectively with the facilities management team
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in general maintenance or facilities management
- Multi-skilled tradesperson with knowledge across various disciplines
- Basic electrical qualifications (preferred)
- Valid UK driving license
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Desirable Skills
- City & Guilds qualifications in relevant trades
- Health and Safety certifications
- Experience working in commercial office environments
- Knowledge of building management systems
