The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the effective maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical systems within the shopping center. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving issues swiftly to ensure smooth operations and an optimal shopping experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other systems as part of a 3 man team.
- Repairs: Respond promptly to maintenance requests and oversee the repair of faults and malfunctions.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all systems are in compliance with relevant health and safety standards and regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Vendor Management: Liaise and assist with external service providers for specialized repairs and installations when necessary.
- Continuous Improvement: Propose improvements to enhance system efficiency and reduce downtime.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience in maintenance engineering, preferably in a commercial or retail environment.
- Skills: Strong troubleshooting skills, knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical systems.
- Education: Relevant trade qualification or certification in engineering, building maintenance, or a related field (preferred).

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8-5 but flexibility required for being able to start earlier/finish occasionally (with notice) to support the team/client.
