We are currently recruiting for an experienced Hygiene Manager – Nights on behalf of a leading food manufacturing business operating within the fresh produce sector. This is a key leadership role within a fast-paced, chilled food production environment.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, market-leading operation supplying major UK retailers and foodservice providers, processing high volumes of fresh products each week.
The Role
As Hygiene Manager – Nights, you will lead all hygiene operations across both day and night shifts, ensuring the factory, production areas, equipment, peripheral areas, and on-site distribution facilities maintain the highest possible standards.
- Lead all site hygiene activities across 7 days
- Drive KPI performance including microbiological pass rates, water usage, titration checks and cleaning schedules
- Ensure successful internal and external audit outcomes
- Organise and deploy hygiene teams to deliver cleaning standards on time and in full
- Develop, train and motivate your team to continuously improve standards and culture
- Oversee HR-related team management (holidays, absence, investigations etc.)
- Take responsibility for night-time site evacuations (fire or ammonia)
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong visibility on the factory floor and the ability to lead from the front.
About You
We are looking for a proven hygiene professional with experience in chilled food manufacturing.
- CIEH Level 3 (or equivalent) Food Manufacturing Hygiene qualification
- Extensive hygiene management experience within chilled food production
- Strong knowledge of Hygiene Management Systems and COSHH
- Experience leading and developing teams
- Excellent knowledge of food industry cleaning methodologies
- A proactive mindset with high standards and strong leadership presence
