The Role: As a Waste Operative, you’ll be working within a fast-paced waste facility, playing a key part in the handling, sorting, and processing of waste materials. Your role will also involve operating machinery, so previous experience or certification in this area is essential. Key Responsibilities: * Operating plant machinery safely and efficiently (e.g., telehandlers, forklifts, compactors). * Assisting with waste sorting, segregation, and movement on site. * Carrying out general yard duties and maintaining cleanliness of the site. * Conducting routine checks and reporting any machinery faults. * Adhering to strict health & safety and environmental regulations at all times. What We’re Looking For: * Previous experience working as a Waste Operative or in a similar environment. * Valid machine operating ticket (e.g., NPORS, CPCS, or in-house equivalent). * A strong work ethic and the ability to work well in a physically demanding role. * Reliable, punctual, and a good team player. * Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
