We are delighted to be partnering with an established construction business based in Cheadle, who are strengthening their finance team and looking for a Financial Assistant to work closely with their Management Accountant by supporting on all day-to-day finance activities. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous accounts experience who is keen to develop, broaden their skills and get involved in wider month-end duties within a rapidly expanding business.
About The Role
You’ll gain hands‑on experience across multiple areas of finance, working closely with leadership in a fast‑growing SME environment.
Your Core Responsibilities in the Financial Assistant Role Will Include:
- Processing accounts payable invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Raising and managing sales invoices accurately and on time.
- Managing supplier statements, reconciliations and resolving finance queries.
- Credit control activity including debtor chasing, payment follow‑ups, and maintaining clean debtor records.
- Allocating customer payments.
- Bank reconciliations.
- Managing the finance inbox.
- Assisting with accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Helping prepare month‑end journals.
- Supporting cashflow reporting and maintaining accurate records.
Key Skills and Experience Required:
- Previous experience within any finance related role.
- A desire to learn and develop broader month‑end skills.
- Confident communicator who enjoys working in a collaborative team.
- Organised, detail‑oriented and proactive.
