We are looking for a smart and experienced Field Superintendent to lead a six-person team to install modular components (bathrooms, head walls, exam rooms, etc) into traditional hospital construction sites around the country. The install team functions like a race pit-crew and this position is for its Crew Chief. The mother company is based in Birmingham and the candidate will split time between the plant and various job sites.
The candidate should be a natural problem solver and hands-on leader interested in making things around them better. They must have experience working on large construction sites, a strong hands-on focus, self-confidence, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently and within a team.
The position is responsible for managing the team, equipment, schedule, safety, quality, and cost. In addition to daily field operations, the position will be responsible for team building and training. This is a challenging position and is critical to our success; the right candidate will have significant opportunity for growth within the company.
Essential Qualifications:- Ability to set a work plan, lead a team, coordinate and manage people, processes, and materials
- Experience working with construction trades (Framing, Dry Wall, Plumbing, Electrical, Tile etc.)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- An interest in Lean principles
- Ensure employees are trained in equipment operations, work, and safety procedures
- Conduct pre-installation inspections to determine job specific needs and coordinate findings with Plant and General Contractor.
- Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals
- Coordinate and schedule team
- Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions
